I tried Folger's vanilla biscotti K-cups. In the past,I didn't like the flavoured K Cups. This, however, was GOOD. To the point where I am going to find it very hard to switch to tea(which I am planning to do as one of my New Year's resolutions. That's just going to be changed to drinking tea a couple of times a week, I think.
Normally I just buy whatever K Cups are good/on sale, I discovered that I didn't like the Gevalia K cups(too thin and watery)
Starbucks' light roasts are TOO light-they're probably great if you're just starting drinking coffee or want something that doesn't have quite as much POW to it. Or, if you don't know what kind of coffee like-but you quickly realise there's better out there.

[weekend report]
Friday: I went to UTC, and went to my parents' house afterwards. I got to see their remodeled kitchen which looks great. I love their fridge-you open it up and you can actually find stuff in there. They also got a new light fixture in their living room, and a new light fixture(which is really bright!) in the entryway.
Also, I got a new bed, which I love :)
Saturday:Went to Point Loma with my mom. Kinda changed up my routine.Went to Con Pane which is a bakery. There was a long line to order but it moved quickly. Whilst you're in line you can see all the pastries they had. I had a brioche twist with chocolate which I thought was just so-so-and a cup of coffee. I sat and drank my coffee and people watched for the best part of an hour.
Then I went to the Corvette Diner for lunch which was busy(there was a birthday party(or several?) going on.
Of course the highlight of the day was the Paley Hannibal panel :)
Sunday:I got a pre-trip haircut,a flu shot(my arm kinda hurts as I'm writing this but not anything I can't handle).Then,after dinner we went to my brother's house for dessert-chocolate fondue-he had all sorts of things to dip in it-pretzels, pound cake,and strawberries to name a few things. :)
This was one of my busier weekends in a while. When I'm at my house, my weekend reports are like "laundry, went to the gym". I need to vary my weekends at home a little more, I think :P
Also, I got a new bed, which I love :)

[two Hannibal posts this week!]
One at the start of the week, and my review of a S1 episode on Friday :)
So..the Paley Center Hannibal panel(Pannibal) was yesterday. I watched online since it was in New York and I wasn't there in person.Watching it online was awesome and just as good, if you ask me!
*Filming on S3 starts tomorrow(!) which is why the cast couldn't hang out for a *real* long time afterwards.
*There was a great vibe there, a great audience(Hettienne Park was there with her baby who was wearing an Eat The Rude onesie. Awww)
Things we learned:
*There is going to be much more female energy in S3.
*Will will be(ha!) trying to find a balance between his sanity and his insanity.
*Hannibal's outfits are going to be ore flashy and we're going to see much more of a variety of clothes.
*The first episode of S3 is a pilot for a show about Bedelia and Hannibal's relationship(iiiinteresting!)
*Everything about this panel confirmed what I've known for a while:This show and its cast and crew and show runner are *amazing*.
*There were shout outs to the cinematorgrapher, Jim Hawkinson, and Brian Reitzell, who does the music and scores for Hannibal(his music is so creepy and perfect! both the ticking clock from Mizumono and the tube sound effect from Kaiseki were mentioned).
*The audience had some *great* questions when they got to the Q and A part of the panel.
*Bryan is definitely a fan of spoilers. I'm with him on that. I'm not a person who likes to stay spoiler free but I get that other people *don't* want to know what is going to happen!
*Anyways, it was SO much fun-and I'm sure a lot of that panel has been GIFed and is going to be quoted ad nauseum -but that's Fannibals for you :)

Still liking Selfie and The Mysteries Of Laura.
Gracepoint is really good, but..David Tennant's accent is all over the place.That is my only criticism of it.Truly. I love everything else about it.
Gotham is SO good-very dark, very noir.
TLC(The Learning Channel) I love you, but Extreme Cheapskates is so played out at this point. Someone removing their own tooth to save money?Really? and someone else MacGyvering a AC unit out of a styrofoam cooler with a styrofoam cooler, ice, and a fan.Yes, really.
Don't get me started on how TLC still keeps the Duggars around, especially since their opinions have gotten a lot more extreme recently.
What I'd like to see more of:Extreme Couponing. I love seeing people with 4 or 5 grocery carts.. and they only wind up spending like $5 on all their groceries. And their stockpiles of groceries. I like it when they buy the groceries to give to their church.
I'd like to do that; the only problem is that California doesn't double coupons(that's why you never see a lot of people from California on Extreme Couponing).Doubling coupons is the best way to save money the way that those couponers do.

[S1 Ep 10 Buffet Froid]
*The beginning of this episode is an honest to god jump scare-in anyone else's hands it would be a tired trope, but here, it totally works.
*The clock drawing-I love Will's "why?" when Hannibal asks him to draw a clock.
*Will freaking out at the crime scene and thinking he's contaminated it.
*Beth LeBeau's house and Will's house are very similar. Coincidence?
*Jack asks if he's broken Will. I think you know the answer to that,Jack.Not only that, Jack flip flops a lot WRT Will.
*Funny how they initially think the killer is a guy.
*Hannibal is so manipulative,and misdirecting.-when Will needs a doctor, Hannibal suggests Dr. Sutcliffe who is a friend of his.He tells Sutcliffe to lie to Will. Will later suspects, which is why he wants to have more tests done. This causes Sutcliffe to wind up becoming Dr. Pez Head.
*A good book on encephalitis is Brain On Fire by Susannah Cahallan. In the book there is a picture of the clock she drew when she was sick and it looks exactly like the one Will drew.
*Will goes back to Beth LeBeau's house, runs into Georgia Madchen and loses time.And pulls off a bunch of Georgia's skin.He calls Beverly because she is the only one who understands him.Always was.
*Hannibals says that anything he publishes about Will would be changed enough so that it wouuldn't be obvious who he is. Somehow, I kinda doubt that,it's Hannibal we're talking about,after all!
*"You didn't kill Miriam Lass..the Chesapeake Ripper did".. one of those "in hindsight" moments to be sure.
*Georgia manages to slip past Will's "guard" dogs. The last scenes of the movie-how Georgia sees what happened-are trippy-Hannibal with no face. I believe that this is also the first appearance of the "murder onesie".

[you have to live your life as normally as possible]
There are going to be a lot of-are- a lot of nurses that complain that a)they're not trained enough and b) that nurses(including Nina Pham and now,apparently, another health care worker who has Ebola, are being thrown under the bus.]
Let's be real here: Nursing is a noble profession.
However,the fact of the matter is is that nurses ARE underpaid and undertrained to deal with Ebola.They are no Emory,that is for sure.Texas Presbyterian, who hospital that treated Thomas Duncan, the man who died of Ebola. already has two strikes against it.And it's NOT OK to criticise the hospital in spite of all that?
Texas Presbyterian needs to cut the "we're doing the best we can" crap. This is not a "try your best" situation. I don't know, am I being too harsh?I'd appreciate your comments.
What I'll never understand was why people freaked out over Kent Brantly and Nancy Writebol being flown back to the U.S. Admittedly, I was one of those people who had a LOT of concerns,but eventually, I understood-and let's be honest here-would they have survived if they had stayed in Liberia?
Precautions were taken in bringing them back to the States and they were getting the best care possible. And now, Kent Brantly is giving back by donating his blood in hopes it helps those with Ebola who need it.
So yeah:Better someplace like Emory, where they are equipped to deal with Ebola, than someplace like Texas Presbyterian, who half ass it with protocols.Hell, this is the hospital that sent Thomas Duncan home with a fever.
And you know, I have a lot of opinions about this,but I'm keeping them to myself.
I can't believe the balls Nancy Snyderman has, breaking her quarantine because she HAD to have..a bowl of soup. She was exposed when she was in Liberia recently.)

It's wrong, on so many levels. However, she will NEVER be sorry enough about that for my liking. This is a matter of public safety and health. NBC needs to make an example of her.
