[how this is ok I will never know]

My new favourite thing? Snarky reviews on Amazon.Especially a recent one for a book called Melanie's Marvelous Measles-a -yes-pro-measles book, and the title is apparently a riff on the title of a book by Roald Dahl, whose daughter died of measles. That, in my opinion is cruel. And the author(I won't say her name but you can google the title of the book and find some of the reviews.)*knows* that.Calling her a "heartless bitch" is being kind, to be quite honest.

But never mind that.Apparently, in 2015 people don't die from/have permanent health issues complications of the measles.Oh yes they do!And anyone who mentions Olivia Dahl gets shouted down-"because it happened so long ago". Really?

What I think is so scary is that this book shows  one of Melanie's friends coming over to her house for a measles party. That is SO irresponsible. See also:Pox parties, and people selling chickenpox infected lollipops over the internet. I don't even know where to start on that one! The book says that it's actually OK to get the

People who think that these things aren't serious should talk to people in my parents' generation, who remember when polio was a real worry. But because of vaccinations, most of those diseases are gone.Well, they were. Now they're back. It was pretty routine to get shots for measles, mumps, rubella, diptheria, tetanus and pertussis(whooping cough) when I was a kid.
